Dear Friends,
This week we end our capital campaign with Dedication Sunday, on May 4th. During the service you will have an opportunity to bring forth your pledge to the capital campaign (building fund). We will have extra pledge cards available if you have misplaced yours. Our financing is in place and once the permitting process is complete we will break ground in early summer.
On May 11th (Pentecost and Mother’s Day) our charter will close, but of course, we will continue to receive new members. If you have noticed the many “new” people each Sunday, you know more and more of the Mount Pleasant community is hearing about our church and joining us for worship. Please continue to invite friends and neighbors and be sure to make our visitors feel welcome.
I hope many of you will be able to attend the Charleston Atlantic Presbytery meeting Saturday morning, May 17th, at 9:00 a.m. at Summerville Presbyterian Church. We will be presenting our charter that day and hope to have a good representation from Palmetto there.
Then, on May 18th at 4:00 p.m., the whole presbytery, our friends from Mount Pleasant Presbyterian Church and our congregation will gather in the school cafeteria for a chartering service, the ordination and installation of elders, and the installation of the pastor. Following the service there will be a reception in the school gym.
Thank you for your commitment to Palmetto and for your willingness to build this new congregation.
Know that you are in my thoughts and prayers,
Mike
