“Make a joyful noise unto the Lord ALL ye lands. Come before his presence with singing.”
While every member of the congregation is an active participant in worship and in the music of worship, some are called to be more involved.
The Sanctuary Choir leads our expressions of praise and adoration in our 10:30AM Sunday worship. They strive to present an eclectic variety of music from classical to contemporary. This choir is open to all from high school age to seniors. No audition is required! The only requirements are a desire to make a joyful noise and a commitment to service in worship and rehearsals. Rehearsals are held Thursdays, 6:30 – 8:00 PM. Childcare is available with advance notice. For more information, contact Crystal at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Special Services: The Sanctuary Choir also leads in many special services throughout the year, including Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday, Christmas Eve and Easter. This year they will lead in our first Hanging of the Greens service on December 2. If full time commitment to the Sanctuary Choir is not an option, we do invite those with a joy to sing to join us for special musical services. While we do not have formal children’s choirs at this time, our children are incorporated into many of our special musical services. There are usually extra rehearsals at times of special services.
Handbell Choir: We are blessed to have a 3 octave set of Shulmerich handbells. While some ability to read music is helpful, it is not required. A commitment to regular attendance is necessary as each individual bell is an important part of each composition. This group meets on Wednesdays from 6:00 – 7:00PM.
