Second Sundays

Second Sunday at PPC is a special time for the whole family. It is an intergenerational worship service that includes a homily and music that engages all ages. Families are encouraged to worship together for the entire service, children and youth serve as liturgists and ushers and Communion is served. Nursery is available for children ages three and under. Throughout the year, fellowship events are planned in conjunction with Second Sunday and are inclusive of everyone. The times and dates may vary for the fellowship events.

What style is the worship service?

The 10:30 a.m. service can best be described as traditional, with a heart and a sense of humor.  The service has a classic structure, but there is plenty of warmth, vitality, and laughter. Choir and organ lead the music, and there is a special time with children each week.  The 9:00 a.m. service is more informal, with music supported by guitar and piano.

How long does the worship service last?

The 9:00 a.m. service lasts about 45 minutes, and the 10:30 a.m. service lasts about one hour.

What do people wear?

Most people dress smart casual. Wear what’s comfortable for you!

Are children welcome in worship?

Absolutely!  We love the energy that our littles ones bring.  At the 10:30 service, children up through kindergarten leave about 10 minutes into the service to participate in an active, age-appropriate Children’s Church.

Do you celebrate communion?

We gather around the Lord’s Table for communion on the second Sunday of every month and on special occasions.

Who can take communion at Palmetto Presbyterian?

Everyone who trusts in Christ, together with their children, is welcome to share the Lord’s Supper.
